Case Study: Fundraising ~ Gustavus


 

The Challenge:

The power of video to tell stories and move people to action was clearly in view on a recent Cuneo Advertising project for Gustavus College. The challenge centered on creating a video that would encourage alumni and supporters to contribute to Gustavus’ long-standing tradition of providing scholarships to first generation college students.

 

The Strategy:

To show the real impact of the scholarship program our video featured several first-generation Gustavus students sharing their experiences about how these scholarship opportunities had life-changing implications. Their heartfelt, moving and compelling stories motivated contributors to act in measurable ways.

 

The Result:

Barb LarsonTaylor, Sr Director of Institutional Events at Gustavus sums it up in her very kind letter to Cuneo Advertising.

“A note of gratitude for your work in making our fundraiser a huge success. The direct appeal for student scholarship raised $209,000. Anecdotally, several people said they were so touched by the emotion created in large part by the video that they gave more than they intended to give. We appreciate your help in making this possible and I look forward to our next project together.”
